Brazilian artist ^L_ returns with an enigmatic and darkly compelling release on Italy’s renowned label, Brutal Forms, titled “Music for Doomers“. This four-track EP delves deep into the psyche of a disenchanted generation, offering a sonic landscape filled with tension, chaos, and existential dread.

BDSM“, wastes no time in setting the tone. A gabber-infused track pulsating with raw energy, it fuses industrial rhythms and pounding basslines to create an atmosphere as intense as it is hypnotic. With its relentless tempo and aggressive sonic texture, this track feels tailor-made for the darker corners of underground clubs, especially those with a penchant for hard-hitting beats.

Sad People Hunting Happy People” continues the aggressive streak but with a more cerebral twist. It layers piercing, metallic percussion over eerie ambient soundscapes, conjuring imagery of desolate futures and societal collapse. The track’s unsettling energy critiques the modern obsession with artificial happiness, delivering a visceral listening experience.

The title track “Doomer Music“, takes the EP’s dystopian themes further with futuristic synths and acid-laden riffs. The track merges hard techno with cyberpunk aesthetics, inviting listeners to lose themselves in a virtual soundscape where despair and defiance coexist in a hauntingly beautiful dance.

Closing with the provocative “Satan + Jesus + Judas“, ^L_ masterfully blends religious iconography and industrial noise into an intricate, genre-defying finale. Combining frenetic breakbeats and deep, ominous basslines, the track leaves a lasting impression, balancing between chaos and fragile order.

With “Music for Doomers“, ^L_ has crafted a visceral narrative, reflecting both a personal and collective sense of alienation. It’s a bold, fearless project that solidifies their place within the post-industrial scene, making it a standout in Brutal Forms‘ catalog.
