Featuring two new originals with German duo Ramverk and an official remix from industry stalwart Recondite, the three-part package is out now via Hunter/Game’s own record label, Just This.
Following the marked international success of their ‘Stars’ EP at the end of May, Milan-based electronic duo Hunter/Game now return to their long-standing Just This imprint for their second EP in as many months, as they unveil the ‘Last Hour’ EP.
First up is the resplendent the title track, Last Hour; a brooding five-minute cut which showcases Hunter/Game’s unique ability to inject raw, unbridled emotion into their dancefloor compositions. Built around Ramverk’s captivating topline, myriad layers converge in blissful dissonance, cultivating an illuminating atmosphere that entrances from the off and sets an immaculate tone for the rest of the record.
The EP’s second track draws the audience into a more introspective realm, as Hunter/Game embark upon a macabre journey through consciousness to bring usLet Love. With Ramverk’s despondent lyrics underpinned by resonant basslines, eerie samples and pulsating four-four beats, Hunter/Game’s meditative trademark shines front and centre across the middle order, as they pull out all the stops with another dark, understated gem.
Last, but by no means least, the Milanese duo warmly welcome industry legend Recondite, who makes his eagerly anticipated debut on Just This with an inspired interpretation of ‘Let Love’. Adding his haunting, meticulously crafted sound design to Hunter/Game’s original, the revered German artist delivers a dynamic and spirited instrumental finale, as he rounds out an extraordinary EP on the esteemed Italian imprint.
