Greece Wildfires: A Fiery Nightmare Leaves Three Lives Lost

Three people died in wildfires on Greek islands, with homes destroyed and tourists evacuated. Two pilots died when their firefighting plane crashed. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis warned of difficult days ahead.

According to law enforcement officials, a staggering 16,000 individuals have been seamlessly relocated via land while an additional 3,000 have been safely evacuated by sea.

The Civil Protection Ministry has issued a grave warning of “extreme danger” in six out of the country’s thirteen regions, underscoring the widespread nature of the wildfires. From the mainland to the islands, the flames have devoured everything in their path, leaving destruction and despair in their wake.
