Bobby Wizdum’s new record Before Your Eyes is unlike any in music history — a project created not just for expression, but as evidence. The artist frames the album as a real-time testimony of his own attempted murder, an act he says was premeditated from the day he was born. According to Wizdum, traditional authorities offered no protection; instead, he alleges they ignored or enabled the forces behind his suffering, leaving the record as his only path to being heard.
The story spans the last three years of Bobby’s life but traces its roots to childhood within the seemingly ordinary Jeffers family. Beneath that facade, he describes long-term narcissistic abuse and spiritual targeting meant to prevent him from discovering his empathic nature and divine purpose. He claims this environment was orchestrated by what he calls a “network,” a covert coven that sought to suppress his identity.
Though the album opens with humor, it quickly shifts into darker territory, exposing what Bobby describes as spiritual manipulation, physical violence, and an on-camera attack in Philadelphia involving the Salvation Army — an organization he accuses of misconduct and exploitation. Following the incident, Bobby spirals into trauma, wandering Washington, D.C. in search of legal help before collapsing at GW Hospital, where he recalls a near-death experience that mirrors a recurring dream.
